It's Wednesday again - Bug of the Week day! Here's your insect identification challenge. See if you can name this bug by next Tuesday, and post your answer here in a comment. You'll get the answer next week, as well as another mystery bug challenge to solve.
For those who wondered about last week's photo, this insect is known by several names. I call it the Pennsylvania leatherwing (Chauliognathus pensylvanicus), but others prefer to call it the goldenrod soldier beetle. Either way, you'd be correct, just like readers Moni, Jeff, and Spirula.
