Did you know...

Webspinners produce silk from glands in the first segments of their front feet, and are the only insects known to make silk in this manner. They're sometimes called footspinners. They use their silk to construct galleries or nests, where they live communally. Only a few hundred species exist, all belonging to the order Embiidina.
