I found this fuzzy caterpillar on the deck railing at a friend's house in North Carolina. Do you know what it is? If you can identify the Bug of the Week, leave your answer in a comment. You'll find hints in the forum. Next Wednesday, I'll give a cyber shout out to anyone who posts the correct answer.
Really? Only two readers knew the name of the spider I posted last week?! Congratulations to Spirula and Mike for correctly identifying the golden silk spider, Nephila clavipes.

Hickory tussock moth cat. I wish the comments had to be opened. When you put your answer, you see everyone else’s. It takes the fun out of waiting to see if you were correct.
A Hickory Tussock Moth caterpillar Lophocampa caryae.
