Every summer I find a group of these white critters in my yard. Do you know what they are? Bug of the Week is your chance to show off your insect identification skills (or practice identifying insects). You have one week to name these insects. Post a comment with your answer here, and next Wednesday, come back to see if you answered correctly. If you need them, you'll find some hints in my forum.
I didn't fool anyone with last week's photo of a silver-spotted skipper! This is probably the easiest skipper to identify, but it's most recognizable when viewing the underside of its wings (where it displays its characteristic silver or white spot). Thanks to Shelly, Roy, Mike, and peab0dy_oc for answering correctly this week.

Dogwood sawfly?
Dogwood sawfly larvae. That’s the easiest one as of late.
I agree with both Lynne and Sallie. They are Dogwood Sawfly larvae.
