As I wander around my yard looking for interesting bugs to photograph, I'm quickly reminded that love is in the air. I keep stumbling across insects happily (I assume) paired, doing the job of adult insects - making more insects.

How exactly does an insect go about choosing a worthy partner for this amorous act? Insects use different signals to tell members of the opposite sex that they are available. In the insect world, looking for love requires something more than a bad pickup line.
