Celebrate the Women Who Loved Bugs Before Us
Saturday March 8, 2008
It's International Women's Day, a day to give a shout out to those courageous women in history who followed their passions, whether or not society approved. For women who loved bugs in the 1800's and early 1900's, being accepted and respected in the male-dominated field of entomology wasn't easy. Seven female entomologists, both amateur and professional, are among those who blazed a trail for women in the field today. Take a moment to read their stories, and raise a glass of nectar in their honor.
