Butterfly Exhibits Around the World
Wednesday October 31, 2007
Unless you live in the tropics (or close to them), you only enjoy watching butterflies for half the year. Those of us who go through butterfly withdrawal during those cold months owe a debt of gratitude to a man named Clive Farrell. Clive is a butterfly lover, and was involved in raising butterflies commercially when he had a brilliant idea. Why not design a building that can house live butterflies year-round? In 1976, Clive opened the world's first live butterfly exhibit, the London Butterfly House. Since that time, butterfly exhibits have become popular tourist attractions for insect-loving folks all over the world. Read Butterfly Exhibits Around the World for information about some of the best places to see butterflies at any time of the year. The photo on the right is an Atlas moth, Attacus atlas, that I watched emerge on my own trip to the Butterfly Farm in Aruba. You can find out what to expect when you visit a butterfly exhibit by visiting my photo gallery.
